What is our credo?

The values that guide our decision-making are set out in our credo. Simply put, our credo calls on us to put the needs and well-being of the people we serve first.
Prof. Dr. Marcus Maassen, founder of the ENT Center Lucerne, defined a mission statement in 2006 that stands for value-based action by the team members of the ENT Center Lucerne. At its core, it is a mission statement that is binding for all team members at the ENT Center. Based on the conviction that the well-being of the patients comes first, the credo defines the values that form the basis of the existence of the ENT Center Lucerne. Responsible commitment to patients, guideline-based medicine, the principle of sustainability and, last but not least, social responsibility form the basis for our team, now and in the future.

Our history

A practice with more than 40 years of experience. This practice has never stood still, but has always had its finger on the pulse of quality-based medicine in order to heal and help our patients by all appropriate means.

Foundation

1982 Dr. Josef Hug founds the ear, nose and throat practice in Lucerne on Hünenbergstrasse. 1.

In 2006, Prof. Dr. Marcus Maassen becomes the owner of the Ear, Nose and Throat Center Lucerne.

Foundation of the Villa Eiche day clinic

Cantonal approval of the Villa Eiche Surgery Center as a branch practice of the Lucerne Ear, Nose and Throat Center.

Medical team grows

In 2015, the range of services offered by the practice was expanded with the arrival of
Dr. med. Jesus Rodriguez, specialist in ENT, ear, nose and throat surgery FMH

Enlargement of the practice area

2022 Cantonal approval as a healthcare facility following expansion of the practice area by 40% on the same level on Hünenbergstrasse 1. development of 7 visitor parking spaces directly at the private parking lot on Hünenbergstrasse 1.

Medical team grows

Since January 2025, our team of doctors has been strengthened by Dr. David Naef, ENT assistant doctor.

Prof. Marcus Maassen is a specialist in ear, nose and throat medicine with additional qualification in ear, nose and throat surgery (FMH). 2006 Prof. Dr. Marcus Maassen takes over the practice. 2011 Foundation of the Ear, Nose and Throat Center Lucerne AG by Prof. Dr. Marcus Maassen.
Dr. med Jesus Rodriguez
Dr. med Jesus RodriguezFMH specialist in otorhinolaryngology - specializing in throat and facial surgery
Dr. Jesus Rodriguez is a specialist in ear, nose and throat diseases (FMH) and head physician at the ENT Center Lucerne. Before working at the ENT Center Lucerne, he was a senior physician at the University ENT Clinic in Tübingen for over 10 years and then head physician at the San Juan de Déu University Clinic in Barcelona. He speaks German, Spanish, English, Italian and French.
Dr. med. David Näf

Dr. Näf has been working at the ENT Center Lucerne since January 2025 and is delighted to be able to contribute his professional experience and expertise. He would like to introduce himself and tell you a little about his life and career. Dr. Naef grew up in Lucerne, where he attended the cantonal school at Alpenquai. After graduating from high school, he began his medical studies at the University of Bern, which he completed in 2019. The following year, he also successfully completed his doctorate in medicine at the University of Bern. His professional career initially took him to Wolhusen Hospital, where he worked in general surgery. He then began his specialization in ear, nose and throat medicine at Lucerne Cantonal Hospital. He then gained valuable experience in the ENT department at Interlaken Hospital. Dr. Näf is currently in his fifth year of further training as an ENT specialist and is delighted to be part of the motivated and committed team at the Ear, Nose and Throat Center Lucerne. It is a matter close to his heart to look after you with care and commitment and to work with you to find the best customized solution for you. In his free time, Dr. Naef finds his balance in nature. Whether hiking or skiing in the mountains, running or cycling – these activities give him strength and inspiration, which he likes to take with him into his everyday life. Dr. Näf looks forward to meeting you in person at our practice and contributing to your well-being with his experience and knowledge.
